In our woods and garden we have shaggy inkcap and puffball mushrooms, both of which are edible. I hunted for morels, but never found any. We also have blackberries in great abundance, as well as various wild greens, though I didn't gather so many of the greens as I might have.

I do know that around Athens, it is quite possible to find morels fairly often. Ramps--well, we will see when they start coming up at the beginning of next month.

What a wonderful way to start spring! I'd love to try them some time, and I'm so jealous you get to forage for wild foods. The closest I can get is the blackberries growing on the local council estate's driveway! Sadly it's illegal to forage in the nearby forest. christina
