Thank you, Indira--I always love to read what you are up to in the kitchen as well.

And thanks for the good luck wish--I think we will need it. The job will be a big one!

Thank you, Indira.

Writing comes with practice--I do have a degree in writing and have done a great deal of it--I think that as you continue writing your blog, your writing will improve.

As for description--I try to engage the senses in my prose. It is sometimes difficult, but I think it is what hooks people into reading about food. They want to know what it smells like, looks like, feels like, and then tastes like--they want the entire experience. And as a cooking teacher, I have had a lot of practice learning to write recipes so that people can recreate the recipe we did together in class. Step by step, bit by bit, with as many details as possible.

Indira, I would love to have you in class--when I have class schedules put together (the teaching kitchen is nearly open for business), if you ever come down to the southeastern part of Ohio--I would be happy to host you here. It would be wonderful to meet, and cook together. You could teach me about Indian food, and I could teach you--Chinese, or Thai, or maybe how to make really awesome pies.

It would be fun.
