On Saturday, when Tom, Dan and I went to the Chinese market here in town to pick up provisions for the party the next day, there was a new girl helping out--probably because it was crazy busy. I wished her a happy new year in Cantonese, and she blinked and looked at me, and then Tom wished her a happy new year in Mandarin, and she laughed and said, "With you, we have a choice of languages!" She then said happy new year back in Mandarin, and we went merrily on our way home, laden with goodies. Hey, Lindy--it was a good birthday, and she was very happy. The cats all hid until most folks were gone. Then Lennier came down and cuddled with all who were left. He is such a happy cat. Riana--Lucky is super lucky! Duck neck! Mmmm. Gong hay fat choy, Rose!
