Ilva--even if I cannot read them because they are in Italian (I can read an Italian menu, but that is about it), I would still like to hear about the books!

Liz--I had the same reaction--I wanted to blather to everyone about the book, and I very much want to do some cooking based on his descriptions and recipes.

Artichokes are out of my league--I have heard they are the devil to grow here in Ohio.

I recently finished reading this book as well. I found myself gushing about each chapter to foodies and non-foodies alike, and I loved the way he kicks off most chapters with a story and pulls the narrative flawlessly into the very casually-written recipes that I'm very much looking forward to cooking my way though.

I also very much want to grow my own artichokes now.
