They look so delicious! I love lavender, but never thought of adding it to pancakes! Thank you for the recipe, glad to hear they turned out so well, the aroma coming from you kitchen must have been delectable! I will be on the search for Lavender this weekend and will hopefully be able to try your recipe on Sunday.

Stephanie--I get my lavender buds at Penzey's Spices: www.penzeys.com

I used to grow my own lavender, but we don't have a sunny spot here to grow it yet. It has to wait, like so much more of our gardening adventures, until we terrance the back.

I am glad to see everyone likes the sound of this recipe--it turned out really, really well, so I highly suggest everyone give it a shot!

It would never have occurred to me to combine lavender and cardamom! They both have such fragrant and strong (but wonderful) flavours.

Can't try it yet though. Our lavender has just started setting flower buds.

Oooh, interesting. I would not have thought of that combination.

BTW, I can't remember if I suggested grains of paradise as a possible pepper substitute for you before--I know I was thinking of that the other day. They're part of the ginger family, but they are pepperlike (supposedly better, but I haven't tried mine yet). The only problem is that they're a bit hard to find.
