Thank you for introducing me to garam masala, Barbara, and for that matter a whole range of spices I had never used before. It's like opening a door to a new country. Simply wonderful.

I dig the Bubba Ho-Tep t-shirt featured in the first photo :). Nothing goes better with a backyard grill than a Don Cascarelli/Joe R. Lansdale production.

The corn is great, folks. Butter or no butter--it is good. I remember the Madhur Jaffrey description of Indian street corn containing butter, but she said it didn't -have- to. I just figured that the family and friends would object to corn without butter.

Elizabeth--that recipe with the potatoes and basil is on the same post as the recipe for bulgogi burgers, because I made them at the same meal to go together. One post, two recipes--all good!

Yum yum!! I'm so looking forward to corn season!

We often have corn that way but without the butter... and in Indiatown in the summer, there are barbecues set up all along the street. They barbecue corn in the way you did, then rub a half lime into garam masala and rub the hot corn with that. It's the most delicious streetfood!

P.S. And how did I miss seeing that post with the roast potatoes and basil? Those look fabulous! ...a must try for us.
