Weekend Kat Blogging: Kitties, Kats and Bunnies, Oh, My!

I don’t even know if food bloggers are still doing Weekend Cat Blogging or not, but I know that if I wanted to, I could probably post a different cat picture every day on this blog and not run out of amusing images for years. I think that is what happens when one has as many cats in as big a house as we do.

On top of everything else, we have a baby named Kat, who likes her kitty siblings.

And they like her.

Especially when she looks like them….witness Kat and Grimalkin, cheek to cheek…

Yeah, that was supposed to be Kat’s first Halloween costume, but she was too little to fit into it really until December. So, we use it as bunting when it is cold outside. It works wonders, and everyone thinks she is adorable as the little black Kat.

It even has a tail.

Not to be outdone, big sister Morganna went to an anime con a couple of weekends ago and came back with a fleece hat with bunny ears. So, last Sunday, we went out for brunch with a catgirl and a bunnylass. And, as you can see, they are really cute together.

Though, sometimes, I wonder if the hat depicts not a bunny, but instead a mad March Hare….

In actual development news, Kat is learning to sit up on her own, and pulls herself upright under her own power if braced. She also stands quite well with minimal adult support, but she doesn’t seem terribly interested in crawling. (Just like big sister, who very much wanted to walk before crawling and was very cranky about having to crawl.) She has also pulled herself up to stand by holding adult fingers and pulling herself upright. She holds her head up as a matter of course, and is starting to become very, very vocal.

She is trying to sing, too. She loves music and singing, and tries to imitate the sounds of my voice when I sing to her. It is very adorable.

  5. They are so lovely! Thanks for cute photos.

On another note, I have many cookbooks on Asian cuisines, but I have not attempted much other than my own. (I am Korean.) Not knowing what finished dish should look like, it is difficult to tell what I should aim for.

Thus, I love your recipes and the abundant descriptions and photos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

  12. I look for Kat’s pics every week and even made one from last week my desktop background at school. I also share them with my students who get a big kick out of seeing her dressed up.
