It is healed completely, now Steph.

And the good that came of my injury is a new sewing machine. What a beauty--a Bernina QE440. She just purrs.

A beautiful piece of equipment. Kat's quilt is now, finally, speeding along at a decent pace!

Barbara, you know in the clothes factories in the north west of England the machinists used to say you weren't a proper machinist until you'd stitched your finger once. And they also used to say you'd never do it twice. Hope it's OK :-)

Abby--it hurt like hell. The only reason I didn't yelp aloud was because I knew that Zak had just gotten Kat asleep, and I didn't want to risk waking her up.

It healed just fine, though, I am happy to report.

Thanks for all the lovely words, everyone.

Christopher G--I will warn you. Those little fermented fellows are addictive. I am warning you now. You will find yourself slipping them into more and more stir fried and braised dishes. They are just awesome critters. Love them.

Smokey Joe--thank you! I hope to keep encouraging you and other readers to broaden your horizons and try new recipes, dishes and cuisines.

Look for some Korean goodness soon.

Nancy--Morganna doctored up my finger with hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin. Then, after I took the bandage off the next day, I have been using it when cutting ginger, garlic, chilies and onions, and have been rubbing Kat's comfrey diaper creme on it. It healed just fine.

As for the headache. Sleep was what it needed! Sleep, blessed sleep!

Sue--thanks for worrying--you see my newest post explaining my absence.

BTW--Morganna's finger is healing pretty well, though she got a lot of salt in it today.

Dear Barbara,
I see that it has been a few days since you posted about your fall and your finger. I'm a little worried. I hope you are doing okay. I made the stir-fried tofu for dinner this past week and it was fabulous.
You take care.

Good Grief! You don't have to explain when you have a crappy day - what you give us is so generous that I'm constantly amazed that you have the time to do it all. Rest, relax, take care of that finger (aloe vera gel works wonders) and mint/verbena tea is good for the headache.
Plus good old aspirin.
