I loved that the book had input from 2 other members of the family. And I liked the recipes. I'm thinking I might try the cheesemaking--it sounds so easy. I love Kingsolver's fiction and this is just as good and highly instructive too. I was particularly struck by her wonderful analogy of a plant growing for how to think about seasonal produce, and by her description of the loss of heritage varietes. That part of the discussion of the latter came with the turkey comic interlude was an unexpected bonus. I got the chance to pick up this book recently and ADORED it.
