Hello.

as per online recipe kultur:

I actually find the kaffeeklatsch mentality on many of these sites quite off-putting. It's in web-based recipe sharing that some of the worst tendencies of
un-vetted(is that a word?) information and misinformation rear ubiquitous heads.

which is to say: you have to plow through tons of dross comparing and contrasting recipes for the same dish to come up with something that feels right...

not to mention those comments which are akin to that old game of "telephone" wherein a basic recipe gets substituted and adjusted until it's a ghost of the original: "well, I left out the ham and used fish sticks, instead...steaming seemed a better option than grilling...then, I eventually just ordered in pizza...great recipe!!!"

I'd heard about the first controversy, and the second concept doesn't surprise me. I'm happy to hear about the third. One thing I miss about living in New Hampshire is the amazing Four Corners farm we used to buy much of our produce from during the summer. I LOVED that place, and miss it so. The only "farmer's market" I've found in the Annapolis area turned out to sell flowers and little else.

Farmers are the new chefs! Well, in the sense that we've obsessed and examined and romanticized one end of our food chain to death and now we're turning our attention to the other.

I can't wait to see the new Food Network season with a dairy farmer from rural Wisconsin and a micro greens cooperative from upstate New York. It's coming, mark my words!
