Weekend Kitten and Kat Blogging: Sharing a Chair
Cordelia seems to be of the belief that she and Kat are sisters, and as such, they should share everything.
Especially when it comes to snacks of Cheerios (which in this house are called “Baby Chow”), which Cordelia likes as much as Kat does, and any supper that involves noodles, bits of meat and cheese. Cordelia loves noodles as much as Kat and will try to leap up onto the highchair tray in order to share Kat’s bowl.
In fact, Cordelia seems to be of the belief that the highchair is in fact, meant not only for Kat, but herself, as she fits into it so perfectly. When Kat is not occupying said chair, we will often find Cordelia in it, having a bath, or napping.
The funniest, however, is when Cordelia got into the chair while I held Kat on my lap. Morganna had wanted to watch a few episodes of Julia Child’s “The French Chef” one evening while I was nursing Kat to sleep on my lap. As soon as the rather doofy, bouncy musical theme to the show came on, Kat woke up, sat up in my lap and started bouncing and waving her arms in time to it, grinning maniacally. Cordelia, meanwhile, leaped up into the highchair and resting her paws on the tray, sat at attention and watched Julia cook halibut, her ears pricked forwards and her eyes wide with alertness.
Kat watched, too, cooing, and singing to the screen, and the both of them were kept enrapt through the entire episode, and finally fell asleep, Kat on my lap, Cordelia curled up in the seat of the highchair, both lulled by the tweedling sound of Julia’s voice as she described the making of souffle.
It was all too cute for words, and I cannot help but think that St. Julia would be pleased to know that she had two very young fans so many years after her death.

Wow, that is just priceless and so adorable! My husbands cat clearly thought he was a human and did everything my husband did and followed him everywhere!

I second the comment about how adorable this is. My young great-nieces are in Minnesota and I only get to see them once or twice a year so I am living vicariously through your posts. Plus, well, Cordelia obviously is Kat’s sister, with the addition of more hair (fur) and paws, instead of hands. Works for me and obviously works for them.

Aawwww! How cute are they both!! I’m sure Cordelia thinks they both are siblings and hence entitled to equal shar of everything-high chair included!

Well, about the pet looking like his/her person and the person looking like his/her pet… I was thinking how much Cordelia and Kat look alike in the first photo. Yes, they are “all too cute for words.”
