I just finished a long post on my blogabout halal (Islamically acceptable) meat and commercial meat production before browsing over here to find your article. My take on eating local as a spiritual practice is more ritually and legally based than your passionate description. And even as different as my spiritual practice as a Muslim is from your own, Barbara, your impassioned insights frequently inform my attempts to live out my faith.
