Thank you for such a sweet comment!

It always makes my day when I hear from a reader who has tried my recipes and has been successful, or who has been inspired to cook something new and interesting that maybe they had never thought of before.

Let me know how your experiments in the kitchen go.

Blessings!

I actually got to your site from a search I did for a dish using Masala and pork tenderloin. I skipped the Junipers and apples and deglazed with red wine. I turned out as good as I had hoped. Over the past little while I started getting interested in using different spices especially of the Indian variety. This was the first time that I ever used Masala and I really enjoyed it. I was very surprised to read about your cowboy sheppard pie. I have been making a variety of sheppard pies for quite some time now, and some of my favourites are Mexican using chillie powder in the ground beef, and East and West Indian using curry on the ground beef. I really like using Yukon potato's for the mash, and adding garlic gives them that little extra flavor as well. I never tried curry mashed potatoes but thats coming up. Anyhow I never replied to a blog before but your recipe inspired me so thanks in both regards. Have a Great day

Hi!

I just came about your blog today, after following a link to your recipe for Koresh e fesenjan. That looks delicous by the way.

From there I surfed on and ended up here. Had no time to make the pork chops tonight, but the mashed potatoes are wonderful just on their own and perfect comfort food for this way to cold night.

Thank you, Priscilla--I am glad you liked the recipe so much.

Tenderloin cutlets would work great--I just happened to have the chops.

And you know--I would not naturally combine those flavors myself--I just had them both in the pantry, and I saw them, and thought about it and thought--you know--those will go great together.

I was glad I was right.

I've only recently started following your blog, but love your approach to cooking and food. I've made this recipe for smothered pork chops three times now since reading about it, once for myself and twice for dinner with friends. (However, I did substitute pork tenderloin for the chops each time, because that is what I had on hand. Also, skipped the juniper berries.) The combination of garam masala with Marsala wine is truly inspired. Never would I have combined those flavors, but they are amazing together. Great job. Thanks.
