Finally got around to making this and it was wonderful. I’m going to knock down the amount of shitakes I use next time since it overpowered the other mushrooms in the dish (but just a little bit).

Oh, and I got a friend hooked on your “Kat’s Chicken Curry,” so I’m doing my part in spreading the love.

I have been eying your curries for a while now and finally bought all the spices to try this one out. However, I have some really good ground cinnamon I need to use and was wondering how much of it to use in place of the half inch piece you called for in the recipe?

Pei–when it comes to mushrooms, you should always check a local expert or book guide. I have no idea myself if puffballs grow in Malaysia, so I am a bad person to ask. There has to be someone local you can ask–who will know more definitively than I would.

Because, with wild mushrooms, unless you are certain they are safe to eat, you are taking a great risk–because some of the poisonous ones smell and taste fine.

Be careful, and be safe rather than sorry.
