Weekend Kat Blogging: Eating With and Without Utensils
Kat successfully used chopsticks last night!
And she managed to use a regular teaspoon at Casa to eat refried beans and guacamole off my plate of huevos rancheros at breakfast.
I was so shocked when she picked up the chopsticks–she picked them up by the correct end, and held them together, and scooped up rice from the bowl with the tips and carried them to her mouth.
It was only a few grains of rice, but she still did it, all on her own. She just set down her spoon, picked up the chopsticks and set to using them!
We were all not only proud, but astounded. She has amazing manual dexterity.
Here she is eating a cracker–I think it is so cute when little kids hold crackers and cookies with two hands. Adorable.
Also–here is another news flash: Kat took several unaided steps last night, while I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed. She took about four or five steps across the bathroom.
I am so proud of my little girl!
