Hey, glad to see you're back! I was just getting on your blog today to find a recipe and was surprised and delighted to find some new posts!

About winter salads: I actually eat more salads in the winter than the summer because I live in Texas, where most salad greens like lettuce really don't do well in the summer (all the heat makes them bitter), but grow throughout the winter just great. So around here, if you are eating locally, then winter is lettuce season, while in the summer if you want a local salad it means cucumbers and tomatoes.

This actually looks similar to a salad I like to make which is arugula, pears, walnuts, blue cheese, honey, and white wine vinegar. The mustard and tarragon sounds like a nice addition, as well as the pomegranate seeds. Too bad pomegranate season is so short. I only managed to get one this year and haven't seen them at the store since, so I think that was all I am going to get. I just ate it out of hand, which I'm glad about. My only pomegranate of 2010 deserved to be enjoyed in it's pure form!

Again, very glad to see you back!
