Ishtoo sounds like a great dish.....I'll have to try it out.

Maybe its just that peas and potatoes with cream are universally wonderful, and that's what makes this dish work!

This actually sounds a lot like a twist on the vegetarian version of the Keralan "ishtoo" - a simple stew made with coconut milk as a base, sweet spices and some chiles for heat - usually chicken but it can be veg with potatoes instead. I love cultural mash-ups and think this sounds wonderful.

The last bite I had of the dish got scraped off the sides of the serving bowl and was cold. Tasted pretty darned good to me.

Barbara, would this work cold as well? Our village camping trip is this weekend and I've been asked to bring a salad for ten. I was toying with the idea of doing a kind of a curried potato salad and then I saw this - serendipity! Love the idea of pairing peas with potatoes, by the way.

Phew, glad to see you are back! I made the Tuscan steak recipe the other day and wanted to see which herbs you used so I resorted to the brilliant Google cache feature.

Much better to have you back and running.

Especially when your recipes are THIS brilliant. Between this and the cheesecakes! Oh my! Hopefully the sour cherries will be at the market this week
